Terms & Conditions

Effective 25 October 2026 Version demo-v1 Simulated demo

These terms explain how the LeaveApp demo may be used, what it does not guarantee, and why it has no official effect on real leave requests.

Demo terms, not legal advice. This is a project demonstration document. It should be reviewed before any production or official use.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using the LeaveApp demo, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the demo.

These terms apply to the demo website and its sample data only. They do not describe an official university policy.

2. What LeaveApp is

LeaveApp is a simulated college leave-permission portal for the Computer Science & Engineering Department at Parul University. It demonstrates how a student could request leave and how an HOD could review and record a decision.

It is not an official university system, not a replacement for college procedures, and not connected to real student records.

3. Demo-only use

The demo uses simulated accounts and sample data stored in your browser. Treat it as a demonstration, not a real leave system.

  • Do not enter real student, parent, or college information.
  • Do not submit real leave requests.
  • Do not rely on demo approvals or rejections for any official purpose.

4. Eligibility

The demo is intended for students, HODs, faculty, and college staff who are evaluating the project concept. Demo accounts are simulated and do not represent real people.

There is no official enrollment or identity verification in the demo.

5. Accounts and security

Demo accounts and passwords are stored in browser storage. They are not production-safe and must not be reused for any real account.

  • Do not use a real college password.
  • Do not assume the demo session is private or secure.
  • Clear the browser’s site data if you need to remove the demo accounts.

A production system would require server-side authentication, password hashing, secure session cookies, server-side authorization, and rate limiting.

6. Acceptable use

You may use the demo to explore the student and HOD workflows. You may not:

  • Attempt to bypass role checks or access another user’s records.
  • Scrape, disrupt, or overload the demo.
  • Upload real personal documents or sensitive records.
  • Present the demo as an official college system or as production-secure.

7. Leave requests and decisions

Leave requests, approvals, rejections, “Needs Info” states, and cancellations in the demo are simulated. They have no official effect.

  • No real HOD is reviewing demo requests.
  • No response-time guarantee is implied.
  • Pending requests can be cancelled in the demo.
  • Records stay in the browser’s demo storage until cleared.

8. Intellectual property

The LeaveApp project name, interface, and written content belong to the project author and the approved college context. Do not redistribute the demo as an official college system without permission.

Third-party fonts and icons remain subject to their own licenses.

9. Availability and changes

The demo may change, break, or become unavailable without notice. Features described as “planned” or “not yet implemented” are not available today.

The demo may be updated to match the project’s progress. No guarantee of continuity is made.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The demo is provided “as is” for demonstration and evaluation. It comes with no warranty of accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or production security.

Do not make official decisions from demo data. The project author is not liable for losses arising from reliance on the demo, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the project moves from the demo stage to a reviewed production plan. Updates will carry a new effective date and version label.
